ABOUT US

Stage Lingo enhances language-learning through theater training. The fundamentals of acting parallel perfectly with the objectives of speaking a foreign language: listening and responding. Rather than sitting in a classroom, we believe the more effective way of learning a language is through creative expression.

Stage Lingo was founded by Colton Pometta and Lauren Taylor Berkman, two NYC-based theater professionals who met working in the contemporary musical theater scene in Paris, France. They bonded over their passion for bridging cultures through theater. Colton and Lauren have performed, taught, and directed throughout the U.S. and internationally from Argentina to Switzerland. Drawing upon their personal experiences with developing foreign language skills through theater, they dreamed up Stage Lingo. Now the company consists of native speakers representing eight different languages whom all share a love for theater.
