ACTING IN FRENCH 101

Instructor:

Who is this course for?

  • Anyone looking to learn a language outside of a classroom, in a more immersive setting.

  • Performers looking to add a foreign language to their resume.

  • People with no theater background who are willing to get on their feet and act for the sake of learning a new language.

  • anyone looking for another window from which to view the world.

What to expect:

  • Physical warm-ups, articulation exercises, theater games, and scene work - all led by a native speaker.

  • You will not become fluent after a six-week course. However, the immersion our courses offer is immensely valuable on the road to fluency. Rather than focusing on grammar, we are honing the skills of listening and being able to respond without fear.

Why theater?

At Stage Lingo, we believe the fundamentals of acting parallel perfectly with the objectives of speaking a foreign language: listening and responding. Theater training increases your confidence and ability to use language to interact with others.

After completing French 101, you will be able to:

  • Introduce yourself and others

  • Order at a French café

  • Express your likes and dislikes

  • Describe yourself and others

  • Express your emotions

  • Utilize the French you know in the most practical manner - to truly communicate with other French-speakers, rather than stressing over grammar.
